“Recognising your own stories”. Meeting with Bronja Žakelj (Slovenia), author of the bestseller “Wash White at 90°C”

Participants: Writer Bronja Žakelj (Slovenia); translator Laima Masytė; publisher Markus Roduneris. Moderator – journalist Marius Eidukonis.
Bronja Žakelj is a phenomenon of contemporary Slovenian literature. Her autobiographical novel “Whites Wash at Ninety” reveals all that we don’t want to see until we have seen it for ourselves. The book is about Yugoslavia and socialism, but at the same time it asks fundamental questions about transience, loneliness, illness and death. The narrative, written in a distinctive and extremely engaging way, highlights emotional connections with the environment and with loved ones, where the worldview trumps the facts.
The event will be held in Slovenian with translation into Lithuanian.
