“Doooooris” exhibition openings and presentation of the installation “Dooooorisophony”

When Doooooris comes, they bring air. About loose thoughts and free creation, detachment and non-attachment, non-acceptance of guilt and non-repentance. When everything is possible, what is impossible. About what is not said, not done, not thought, not born, not conceived and… never will be.
The exhibitions bring together the historical and contemporary contexts of works by former members of the group “Doooooris”—Audrius Jankauskas, Arvydas Karvelis, Saulius Kanapeckas, and Remigijus Treigys. Archival materials and works of the Klaipėda-based artists’ group “Doooooris”, active in the early years of restored independence (1989–1995), will be reflected in and connected to the current creations of these same artists. Reuniting after thirty years, the remaining members of ‘Doooooris,’ reaching back with emotional and physical feelers to those times, have created new works especially for this exhibition. A little straight, a little sideways—just as then, so now. Nothing has changed that was not meant to change. The members of “Doooooris” know what they are doing, but they do not do it.
Fragments of time and thought will be woven into the sound and light installation “Dooooorisophony” by Paulius Sadauskas and Marius Lukošius. We invite you to turn your trousers inside out—not to hide the better side, but to reveal the reverse. The truth lies in the seams.
