The novel depicts an interesting and complex time in Lithuanian history – the struggle against Moscow, which was already pursuing an imperialist policy.
Based on the memoirs of contemporaries, the difficult period for Lithuania is shown from different perspectives, fiction is combined with historical facts, and elements of mythology are interwoven.
The novel describes not only the circumstances of the war and the most important events of the time, but also the hero’s love affairs.
