Discussion with journalist Jessikka Aro (Finland): “Has Truth Been Lost in the Age of Noise?”
Participants: journalist and author Jessikka Aro (Finland). Moderator: journalist Agnė Bukartaitė.
Finnish journalist Jessikka Aro, author of “Putin’s Trolls”, made international headlines a decade ago when she exposed Russia’s so-called troll factories. In a conversation moderated by Agnė Bukartaitė, Aro’s latest book, “Putin’s World War: Russia’s Covert Operations to Destroy the West”, will provide a starting point for a discussion not only about propaganda technologies, but also about the courage required to stand on the side of truth when information becomes a weapon and journalism a form of resilience. How can we recognise manipulation today? What roles do the media, cultural institutions, libraries and readers themselves play? This meeting is for everyone concerned with critical thinking, democracy, freedom of speech and societal resilience.
The event will be in English with interpretation into Lithuanian.
