Opening of the Fanzine Exhibition “What Remains After the Sea?”

Participants: art historian and exhibition curator Danguolė Ruškienė and the authors of the fanzines.
In the contemporary world, the sea is not merely a geographical space but a profound cultural code shaping our identity, everyday life and visions of the future. The exhibition invites visitors into a unique experiment in which traditional maritime themes meet alternative fanzine culture. In artists’ fanzines, ports, sounds, fog, maps, memories, rust, bodies and water take material form. The works presented here follow no fixed rules: they are manifestos of freedom in which handmade techniques, visual art, design and text merge into bold and unexpected voices. Are we ready to see the coast not through postcard romanticism, but through critical, interdisciplinary artistic reflection? The exhibition will also feature an art installation created especially for the occasion. Curator: art historian Danguolė Ruškienė.
The exhibition will run through November 28.
