Presentation of the Bilingual Literary Almanac “Klaipėda – Liepāja – Prose”
Participants: poet, prose writer, and translator Nijolė Kliukaitė-Kepenienė; translator and actress at the Liepāja Theater Laura Jeruma; Dzidra Marčienė, promoter of Lithuanian-Latvian cultural ties and vice chair of the board of the Klaipėda County Latvian Association “Atpūta”; and publisher Antanas Stanevičius.
The literary almanac “Klaipėda – Liepāja – Prose” introduces readers to short-form prose – novellas, essays and short stories – by nine writers from Klaipėda and eight from Liepāja, published in Lithuanian and Latvian. The almanac offers a chance to discover the literature of Lithuania’s closest neighbours, encourages creative exchange and expands the boundaries of Klaipėda’s literary field. The volume was compiled and translated by Nijolė Kliukaitė-Kepenienė, Laura Jeruma and Dzidra Marčienė.
