The authors of the literary-cultural almanac “Baltija 2024” invite you to discuss the cultural identity of Klaipėda in the context of the Sea Festival. After all, 2024 is an anniversary year; 90 years have passed since the first celebration of the Day of the Sea (Fisherman) in Lithuania. This one-of-a-kind celebration of maritime traditions in Lithuania sets Klaipėda apart from other cities in the country. What does it mean to us, the citizens of Klaipėda? What are the possible angles of view? What is there more to it: meaning or meaninglessness?
