Poetic and musical event for voice, saxophones, electronics and percussion “Sinking Units”
Participants: poet Gytis Norvilas; musicians Petras Vyšniauskas (saxophone), Arkady Gotesman (percussion).
“Sinking Units” is a composition based on Gytis Norvilas’ poems (from the books “Locust Breakfast”, “Blind Boat”, “Sinking”, “Melt Zones”, etc.), a kind of a map showing the vectors of movement.
The poetic and musical process at the event will be governed by improvisation, albeit strictly structured, and the rhythm and tone will be dictated by intuitiveness, impulse and listening.
“Poetry must be sharp, uncomfortable, irritating, and give no peace to the author, the reader, or the language itself,” says Gytis Norvilas, inviting to his, Petras Vyšniauskas’s and Arkadiy Gotesmanas trio “blind boats” performance.
