Rimantas Kmita

A poet, literary scholar, creative-writing lecturer and critic. His 2016 novel “Pietinia kronikas” became a major readership success and was adapted into Ignas Miškinis’s equally popular film in 2025. Written in the Šiauliai dialect, the Book of the Year-winning novel tells a story of growing up, the shadows of the Soviet era and urban identity.

Kmita is also the author of the novels “Remyga” and “Editas kompleksas”, as well as academic monographs and translations.
