Nora Gomringer

Swiss-German poet and writer.
In Bamberg, he studied German, English and art history. Since 2000 she has published more than 9 volumes of poetry, 2 volumes of essays, as well as various short stories, texts and librettos. Her literary works have been translated into Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish, Italian, French, Bulgarian, Russian, Persian, Vietnamese and Japanese. In addition to publishing and reading her work, she also collaborates in musical poetry performances and projects. One such collaboration is the jazz album “PENG PENG PENG” with musician Philipp Scholz, released in 2016. The duo also enjoys running workshops on poetry and music.
Since 2010 she has been a member of the international Rotary Club. The author is a passionate art lover. In her spare time she goes to the museum or cinema. Also works on expanding her private art collection and has written poems for a number of exhibits.
Nora has been awarded numerous prizes: the Jakob Grimm Prize German Language (2011), the Joachim Ringelatz Prize (2012), the Residence Scholarship of the Goethe Institute Helsinki: Autumn (2014), European Medal of the Free State of Bavaria (2015), Weilheim Literature Prize (2015), Ingeborg Bachmann Prize (2015), Residence Scholarship of the Goethe-Institut in the Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto (2016), etc.
