Carolina Pihelgas (Estonia)
In 2006 he made his debut with the poetry collection “Sõrmemuster” (Finger Pattern). Born in 1986 in Tallinn, he studied theology and anthropology of religion at the University of Tartu, graduating with an MA in 2012. Pihelg was the editor of the online literary magazine “Ninniku”, and from 2013 to 2020 she worked as the editor-in-chief of the Estonian literary magazine “Värske Rõhk”, dedicated to young writers. Since 2021, Pihelg has been the editor of the literary monthly “Looming”. Since 2012 Pihelgas has been a member of the Estonian Writers’ Union and a productive translator. She was awarded the August Sang Prize in 2020 for her poetry translations. Her collection of prose poems, “Valgus kivi sees” (Light in Stone, 2019), received the Estonian Cultural Foundation’s award for the best poetry book of the year.
