Jasmine Gardosi (United Kingdom): Spoken-Word Performance “Dancing to Music You Hate”
Participants: Jasmine Gardosi – voice; Noemi La Barbera – drums; Jobe Sullivan – composer; C@ In The H@ – DJ.
“Dancing to Music You Hate” is the debut performance by Jasmine and her team, exploring gender identity, embracing one’s difference and the search for words. Prepare for an hour of explosive dubstep basslines and soaring Celtic fiddle melodies that break down the boundaries of both gender and musical genre, while Jasmine interacts, argues and competes with a live band. “Dancing to Music You Hate” won the Saboteur Award for Best Spoken Word Show, while its title piece was performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and broadcast on BBC Four.
The event will be held in English.
